Equestrian Workout - Mobility Training

EQUESTRIAN MOBILITY PROGRAM - (PART 1)

As equestrians, it is our responsibility to ensure we are balanced and symmetrical riders, fit enough to carry ourselves as much as possible, and have the strength, stability and mobility necessary to communicate with our equine partners effectively.

Our connection with the horse begins with our own body.

Optimal mobility and strength, particularly within spine and hips, are essential for allowing us to follow and absorb the movements of our horses, reduce joint strain and improving overall performance in the saddle.

Whether you’re a seasoned rider or just starting, these exercises will help you move with greater ease and fluidity, ensuring that both you and your horse can perform at your best.

This eBook is a 10 Minute Hip & Spine Mobility Programme, designed specifically for the busy equestrian. It has been designed to provide the rider with a series of targeted mobility exercises to enhance your spine and hip mobility, allowing you to ride with more comfort, control, and confidence.

Evolve Equine was born from a deep concern for the often overlooked well-being of equestrians. While we devote endless time and energy to ensuring our horses are cared for, our own physical health as riders frequently takes a back seat.

Founded by Tayla Ross, a Registered Biokineticist and passionate equestrian, Evolve Equine is on a mission to change this narrative. By recognizing equestrians as the athletes they are, Evolve Equine aims to foster rider wellness through evidence-based insights on rehabilitation principles, injury prevention, optimizing the rider position and seat, and enhancing performance. Additionally, it offers valuable guidance on overall health and fitness tailored to the unique demands of the equestrian lifestyle.

Tayla is an academic, lecturer, and PhD candidate at the University of Cape Town, with qualifications including a BSc Med Hons in Biokinetics, and an MPhil in Biokinetics. She is passionate about empowering equestrians to prioritize their own well-being alongside their horses.
